Ace Drayage in Savannah is seeking qualified Independent Contract Owner Operators for port and over the road support.

Experience - Our team is experienced and have encountered many issues over the years and know how to quickly resolve problems to get you moving because when you are stopped we know you are not making money. We have 6 people in our office with over 38 combined years of trucking experience. We also have 2 mechanics with over 9 years of experience. We know what we are doing and it shows!
Partnerships - Our office professionals are fair and know that ALL drivers need to make a living and they don't play favorites. They are driven to help you make more money because happy drivers perform better and help us serve our clients better, which helps us as a team be successful.
Rates - We are constantly evaluating our rates and our lanes to determine if they fit the needs of the drivers. We work hard to provide options that you are looking for and if we decide for a business need that we need to take a run drivers don't care for then we work to ensure the compensation is higher. We constantly look for back haul opportunities because we like seeing you smile.
Organized - In order to make sure your experience goes as planned organization is key. We have a custom dispatch system that helps us quickly track containers to help us more easily assist you. All work orders are input upon receipt and tracked for availability. Our dispatch orders clearly outline the information you need and clearly indicate when you need to return the container so there is no guess work. We provide a pay sheet with every dispatch so you know what you are being paid for the run. Directions are provided with each load to help take the guess work out of deliveries.
Pre-pulls - No TWIC, no problem! Our road drivers don't need one. Containers are prepulled from the port the business day prior to delivery. We do this because things can go wrong and we need to time to reorganize. Has your box ever been bent when you get to the port and it won't fit on a chassis? Has the port ever lost your container? It happens more than you think. These are the kinds of things that keep a driver from moving forward and can result in missing a load so we feel by pre-pulling to our yard the day before we have time to create a new plan so you don't miss a run.
Settlement Accuracy - Tired of chasing down money? We hate that too and love that something so simple can often be a differentiate for us. Our drivers will tell you with great confidence that they don't check their settlements. They do in the beginning and quickly figure out that we get it right! Now you can spend your spare time doing what you love instead of figuring out why your pay is off. Its very simple with us because we give you a pay sheet with each load and offer online access to all of your settlements. New settlements are available online on Wednesdays around 2:30 pm for you to check yourself.
Full pay on Backhauls, competitors only pay a few hundred $ to pick up a load on the way back from unloading but we pay 70% of what we bill for both runs so its like getting paid an extra run for an additional stop and being loaded both ways.
Great Drop Yard - Well maintained and well lit container drop yard. You won't get stuck or tear up your truck because of a poorly maintained yard. You also have ample light to be able to do a proper pretrip when you are picking up your container in the middle of the night. Check us out our aerial.
Private Chassis - Large fleet of company owned and maintained chassis so your not on the side of the road with port junk.
Because we own a large portion of our equipment, you don't have to return the day after your run and worry about getting charged for chassis rental. If it is on our chassis then your container only needs to be back when the container needs to return to the port. This helps us tremendously cut down on bobtailing home. If you need to take vacation or take a day off for personal needs let us know and we can look for a container that we can put on our chassis that has some time on it so you don't have to rush back and bobtail home to keep the costs low.
Our chassis run virgin tires - no recaps, reducing the amount of time you are stuck on the side of the road.
Our chassis are continuously looked over so we can proactively address issues as they arise.
Mechanics - On-site tire and chassis maintenance personnel to keep you moving in case the chassis has an issue you won't run out of hours waiting for help
Mechanics on site - Ever have a port driver pull out a box for you and miss something? Your the guy driving by the DOT scale and you don't want to be written up but you also don't want to wait an hour for a mechanic to show up to fix it because you are going to run out of hours. No problem, during business hours our mechanics can usually have you pull the box into the shop and fix you up right away.

Competitive Mileage Based Compensation 70% of run with 88 cent/mile floor to keep us from quoting too low - Generally $1.30+ per mile after dray deductions.
Competitive Fuel Surcharge - we do little steamship line work so our FSC is more in line with what you need versus some ridiculously low number
Port Drays Cost only $25 each way. If you do your own drays we deduct $25 but pay you $39 each way.

For warehouse appointments, Detention is paid after 1 hour if Driver is on-time for appointment, dispatch is notified at time of detention and POD is signed with in and out times
Contractor(s) must have a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license
Minimum age of 23 with 18 months verifiable CDL class A experience
Must have OTR experience in at least 2 of the last 5 years
